Installation
Hyperdeep is currently distributed as a portable application: simply unzip the game to a folder of your choice and run the executable to play.
Windows Firewall
Upon starting Hyperdeep for the first time, you may see a "Windows Security Alert" popup asking if you want to allow Hyperdeep to access the internet.
Hyperdeep has no online features, but various plugins used by Unreal Engine can cause this alert to appear regardless.
Feel free to block Hyperdeep from accessing the internet. It will not affect the functionality of the game.
Updates
When updating the game to a new version, the new files should be extracted to a new folder. Do not overwrite an existing install as this will likely break something.
Save Files
The primary save files that players interact with are presets, which are stored in the game directory.
Additionally, the game maintains some "session" files that allow you to resume where you left off ("continue" from the main menu). These files are saved to [User Directory]\AppData\Local\HDT\
.
Session problems
If you notice any strange behavior when starting up the game (incorrect settings remembered, etc.) you may wish to delete this folder. This is especially relevant when updating the game as these session files are shared between versions.
Uninstallation
To remove the game from your system, delete the game folder itself and the AppData folder specified above.
